This question has probably crossed the mind of anyone who has ever booked tickets or a stay at Disneyland Paris. After all, no one wants to spend hours waiting in queues for the most popular attractions, or end up freezing to death at the end of the day on an icy winter’s day. While the weather and the number of visitors are important criteria to consider before making a booking, another factor is just as important: the season. At Disneyland Paris, the number of people visiting and the price of tickets are closely linked.
When should you go to Disney Paris to avoid the crowds?
At Disneyland Paris, January used to be the least busy time of the year. A month that follows the very busy Christmas period and the end of the winter holidays, and therefore a month with the lowest attendance. In mid-January, queues of 5 minutes for attractions like Space Mountain or Peter Pan were not uncommon.
But that was then! If you follow Disney Youtubers like Wonder Hook or Raphael Pichenot, you’ll have heard them express surprise at the crowds in the parks, whether in mid-January or even during the week. There are always fewer people in January, but not as much as before.
To avoid the crowds, the 4 most attractive months in the calendar for a day or short break are January, March, September and November. However, for parents with children at school, all these periods are ‘outside school holidays’.

Why is January no longer so interesting?
The situation has changed with the Covid pandemic, but also with the growing success of the parks in Europe. I will mention one specific example: Disneyland Paris’ special offers.
Yes, despite their long history as a provider of good deals, they have completely disappeared from the official website and other sites such as Voyage Privé. A sign that the Euro Disney Group has much less need to fill its hotels and parks than in the past.
March and september : best time to enjoy light queues
March may not have the best weather, but it’s undeniably the month that ticks the most boxes. The parks begin to emerge from their winter hibernation and the first rays of sunshine appear.
On the other hand, September could compete for the title of “best month of the year at Disneyland Paris”. In September, the sun is shining, kids are back in school and prices are low. The best time for couples without children !
What are the best weekdays to visit Disney?
We analyzed ticket prices over a 365-day period to answer this question. Since the most expensive days are the busiest days, this allowed us determine the best weekdays.
It might seem obviois but the best way to get the most out of the attractions and parks is to visit Disneyland Paris during the week.
Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays are the most interesting days. There is one drawback though: some shows may be less frequent on these days.
While weekends are the busiest time of the week, Sundays can sometimes be less crowded than Mondays. This can be explained by the fact that many people travel on Sundays.

What are the 3 factors that influence the number of visitors to Disneyland Paris?
The number of visitors to Disneyland Paris is influenced by three factors:
- School holidays in France and Europe
- Festivities and seasons
- The weather
Holidays=crowded parks!
July and August, not to mention December, are definitely the months to avoid. This is probably the month with the highest peak attendance.
Summer vacations are like a weekend that lasts 60 days. No day is less crowded than another. Weekdays and weekends alike.
Easter and April also bring a spike in visitors. The weather is generally mild and the days are longer. If you look at hotel rates during the Easter holidays, you’ll see some very high prices!
Magical seasons, in high demand.
The Christmas season is undoubtedly the busiest, but also the most magical. Disney’s Enchanted Christmas runs from early November to the first week of January. In fact, if you’re wondering if the parks will be crowded on 24 and 25 December, these are probably the two busiest days of the year.
Another season that is becoming increasingly popular in all the parks is Halloween. From 1 October to 5 November 2023, the Halloween Festival will be held.
Which season has the best weather?
When the Walt Disney Company and its Imagineers were working on this new park project in Paris, the weather was at the forefront of their minds. Understandably, the weather in Paris is not the best!

That’s why almost every attraction has a queue, often half of which is covered. However, the party is spoiled a bit if it’s cold or rainy (or both at the same time) at Disneyland Paris.
The period with the best weather is from March to September. The two summer months are the warmest, with the clearest skies and the least rain. If the parks weren’t so crowded, these would be the best months.
To avoid rain and temperatures that are too hot or too cold, two other periods are very pleasant:
- April to June: Temperatures average between 7 and 14 degrees Celsius in June. These three months also offer many hours of sunshine (8.5 on average).
- September to October: The back-to-school month offers nice summer temperatures and very little rain.
In short:
- The 3 best months of the year: January, March and September
- 3 months to avoid: July, August, December
- Events affecting traffic: holidays, school holidays in France and Spain
