Why we love the Newport Bay Club
- Really Close to the parks: Just a 10-minute walk to Disney Village and 15 minutes to the entrances of Disney and Disney Studios parks. The free shuttle service takes you to the parks in just 3 minutes!
- Comfortable bedding: The beds at Newport Bay Club are renowned for their comfort, whether you stay in a Standard or Compass Club room.
- Spacious rooms: The Superior Standard and Compass Club rooms have an average size of 27m2, only 4m2 less than the New York hotel.
- Excellent breakfast: The all-you-can-eat breakfast served at Cap Code is very generous and varied. Savoury, sweet, English breakfast: there’s something for everyone!
- Great pools: Relax with the family in one of Newport’s two pools.
How much does it cost to stay at Newport Bay Club?
As with any 4 star hotel, the cost of staying is going to be affected. However, rates at this Disney property are still very affordable. On certain dates, a reservation will cost you more than twice as much as a reservation at the New York the Art of Marvel Hotel (check our review of the Marvel hotel) and a little more than a stay at the Cheyenne Hotel.
Here is an example of a weekend hotel package rate for two adults and a family of 4 in January 2024:
- Package for couple: 1 night in a standard room and 2 days park admission from £410
- Package for family: 1 night in a standard room and 2 days entrance to the park from £810
When should you book to save money?
The first thing you need to know about Newport is that you don’t necessarily need to book 6 months in advance to benefit from special rates. As the hotel is very large, it rarely sells out. However, the best rates are available :
- January: the cheapest month of the year!
- Outside french school holidays: sounds obvious, but it’s a great way to save money.
- March and September: two periods of the year with better weather and fewer crowds.
- Mid-week: stays from Tuesday to Thursday are by far the cheapest of all periods.
David’s tip
However, we recommend booking online 4 to 6 months in advance for Compass Club rooms and suites.
How do I get to the Disney Newport Bay Club Hotel?
The Newport Bay Club boasts one of the best locations and views in the entire resort.
Getting there couldn’t be easier:
- By car: Take exit 14 off the motorway towards ‘Parcs Disney et Bailly-Romainvilliers’ for quick access to the hotel. No need to worry about your car. Resident parking is free and supervised day and night.
- By train: Chessy Marne la Vallée TGV station is less than 2 km away. If you book the Magic Express service, your luggage will be delivered to the hotel and you can walk to the hotel via Disney Village and the free shuttle bus.
- By air: the Magic Shuttle Bus, which you can book at the same time as your stay, is the most convenient way to get to Disneyland Paris.
The Hotel: Presentation
The Disney New Port Bay Club is one of two 4-star Euro Disney Group hotels in the Disneyland Paris Resort. Along with the Marvel Hotel, which it is very close to, it is one of the most upmarket establishments for a short or medium stay at Mickey’s.
A brief history of the Newport Bay Club
Let’s have a look at how this sublime mansion came to be. If you’ve ever been to the Boardwalk at Walt Disneyworld Resort in Orlando, Florida, you may have noticed a certain resemblance between the buildings that line Lake Buena Vista and the Newport. In fact, the same architectural firm is behind both projects: Robert A.M. Stern Architects. As you can see below, the Newport is very much inspired by Disney’s Yacht Club Resort.
A fully renovated hotel in 2013
After renovating the Santa Fé and the Sequoia Lodge, the Euro Disney Group has embarked on the renovation of Disney’s Newport Bay Club. Work began in 2013 and will be completed in 2016, giving France’s largest hotel its 4th star. A gigantic undertaking, given the size of the building! The lobby, the swimming pool, the facades, the conference centre, the bedrooms, the Compass Club lounge (replacement for the Admiral’s floor): everything has been redone from floor to ceiling!
A touch of the American West Coast
The great seaside resorts of the West Coast, particularly in New England, were the inspiration for American architect Robert A.M. Stern. A region where the dominant architectural style was shingle, a blend of English influence and the shingles typical of American colonial architecture.
A key feature of the hotel also pays homage to New England. A building that can also be found at Disney’s Yacht Club: the lighthouse. The Harbour Light bears a striking resemblance to the lighthouse on Newport’s Goat Island.
A hotel experience between land and sea
Everything about this hotel is reminiscent of the sea and the nautical world. Even Mickey, Minnie and the other characters you are likely to meet here are dressed in nautical attire.
The woodwork, the lace, the dominance of white inside and out, the seafood restaurants – Cape Cod and the Yacht Club. Or the replica of Walt Disney’s brother Roy Disney’s boat.
Nautical details everywhere in the building
Have you noticed that the TV stands in the rooms are shaped like the old wooden sea trunks you’d find on a transatlantic cruise?
Rooms at the Newport
With its huge capacity, the Newport Bay Club Hotel offers the widest choice and the best availability, even during busy periods such as Christmas and the summer holidays. Here are all the services offered by the largest hotel in Disneyland Paris.
The hotel is so large that there is a big difference between the rooms close to the lobby and those in the east and west wings of the hotel. The corridors can seem endless! So try to ask for rooms close to the centre!
Superior rooms
They are the standard accommodation. They are the cheapest. As a 4-star hotel, they have beautiful interiors and refined decoration. The facilities are also worthy of a top hotel, with a full range of amenities.
Children will notice all the Disney touches, from the Mickey Mouse headboard to the portholes in the wall frieze, as soon as they get home. It’s almost like being on a ship from the good old days!
Depending on your expectations and the size of your family, here are the different types of superior rooms you can book:
- Classic Superior Room: This is the typical room for a couple with a large double bed.
- The Superior Room overlooking Lake Disney: this offers one of the best views and can accommodate up to 4 people.
- Superior Family Room: This is a classic room for families of up to 4 people with two double beds.
- Superior Family Room with Lake Disney View: This is a family room identical to the above, but with a panoramic view of Lake Disney.
- Superior Room with Terrace: This is the most popular of the standard rooms as you can fully open the French windows onto the terrace.
- Accessible Superior Room: The Newport is proud to offer rooms that are accessible to guests with disabilities.
Compass Club Rooms
For less than £170 on top of the Superior Room rate (per night), treat yourself to a VIP welcome in Compass Club Rooms at the most beautiful lakeside residence on Lake Disney! Breakfast and afternoon tea are included and served in the captain’s quarters, the Compass Club Lounge.
What makes this room better than a Superior room? For starters, it’s not bigger. It is 27m2.
But it does offer a little more comfort than the standard. Starting with the bedding, which has a much softer, more comfortable mattress. The headboard is more sophisticated, with a wooden Mickey headboard and imitation leather upholstery. The bathroom is also more practical, with a large bathroom in two parts, with a shower area on one side and a bathtub area on the other. However, it offers nothing more than the upstairs bedroom. It is also in this room that you will find the small bar fridge, which is missing in the less expensive room.
The Suites
There are only 13 suites at the Newport Bay Club Hotel. That’s very few compared to the other 1097 less luxurious rooms. But anything that is rare is expensive and precious! Let’s go to the first class of the ship!
The Executive Suite
Relatively little is known about the ‘cheapest’ of the hotel’s suites. This splendid and spacious suite is located on the garden side and offers a very nice room with a king-size bed and two sofas, one of which is a sofa bed for two extra beds. Gone are the Disney details, replaced by a luxurious, sophisticated decor.
Of course, like all suites, this one offers all the Compass Club services plus premium services such as the little touches left in the room for your arrival (snacks, drinks, champagne, goodies, etc.).
The Vice President Suite
Tired of being cramped during your stay at Disneyland Paris? Introducing the 69m2 Vice Presidential Suite. This suite is also known as the Honeymoon Suite. Not because it’s exclusively reserved for couples, but because the services it offers are perfect for a couple.
Like the jetted bath, for example, or the magnificent four-poster bed. But the best way to see for yourself is to take this room tour.
The Presidential Suite
This is the largest (87m2), most expensive and most exclusive suite in the hotel. It’s also the one with the best view of Lake Disney. It also has two rooms with a large sitting area and a huge lounge area with sleeping facilities, so the whole family can stay together without stepping on each other’s toes.
Plus, you might be lucky enough to be upgraded to this suite one day. Yes, you will! It’s happened to many residents.
Food at New port Bay Club
What do you eat on the biggest cruise ship in Disneyland Paris? Is breakfast worth it? We’ll try to shed some light on the food and drink on Disney’s Newport Bay Club.
Breakfast
Not everyone is entitled to the same breakfast at Newport Bay Club. There’s Cape Cop breakfast for guests staying in Classic rooms, and Compass Club breakfast for guests staying in suites and Compass Club rooms.
For the latter, it is included in the price of your stay at Disneyland Paris. However, the menu is more or less the same for both restaurants. In keeping with the seafood specialities, smoked salmon is served as well as pancakes, English sausages and pastries. No need to be jealous!
Cape Cod Restaurant and Buffet
If you’re looking for a gourmet stopover between land and sea, Cape Cod is the place to be! Cape Cod is a peninsula in Massachusetts where the Pilgrims landed on the Mayflower in 1620.
Cape Cod has only one option: an all-you-can-eat buffet for €45 for adults and €25 for children.
From starters to desserts and main courses, there’s something for everyone, not just fish lovers.

- Tripadvisor rating: 4/5 (831 reviews)

The Yacht Club
The second restaurant at the Newport Bay Club Hotel is a table service restaurant serving seafood and fish specialities. It is located on the ground floor opposite Cape Cod.
The restaurant’s name is a double reference, firstly to the hotel that inspired the Newport at Walt Disney World, and secondly to New England’s favourite yachting spot, the Yacht Club. The interiors are particularly sophisticated. The mix of wood inlays, the lanterns, the ceiling: everything has been done to immerse you in the atmosphere of a luxury cruise liner.
- Opening hours: 18:00 to 22:30
- Price: €€ – €€
- Tripadvisor rating: 3.5/5 (405 reviews)
- Google rating: 3.5/5 (175 reviews)
The Captain’s Quarters Bar
The final restaurant in the hotel is the nautical-themed Captain’s Quarters Bar. Here you can admire a magnificent globe-shaped chandelier and sip iconic cocktails such as the Black Pearl or the Mauna Loa. The bar is open until 1am so you can relax with friends over a good drink.
- Opening hours: 1pm to 1am
- Price: €€ – €€
- Tripadvisor rating: 4.5/5 (17 reviews)
- Google rating : 4.5/5 (27 reviews)
The activities
You may not be able to learn how to tie sailor’s knots at this hotel, but there’s no shortage of activities for young and old alike.
Meet the characters
No matter where you choose to stay, you’ll have the chance to meet an iconic Disney character every morning at Newport Bay Club. The Selfie Spot is located next to the Boutique and Concierge Desk. From 8am to 11am every day, you can hug, check out or just take a picture with Goofy, Minnie or Mickey.
A great way to start a day full of attractions. And don’t forget, queues to meet the characters in the park are usually quite long. So take your chance!
Swimming Pools
The Newport Bay Club is one of the few Disney hotels with a swimming pool, in fact two. An indoor pool and a beautiful outdoor pool. A dip in the beautiful indoor pool is a real treat at the end of the day after a day of wandering around the parks and queuing for hours.
The Fitness Centre, Spa and Hammam
Sports enthusiasts can combine fun and physical activity in the hotel’s beautiful fitness room. The room is very spacious and is equipped with a variety of machines for strength training and fitness (treadmill, elliptical).
The hotel’s boutique
This is one of the most beautiful and impressive shops in a Disney hotel. You may not find a sailboat or shellfisherman’s boots here, but the range of merchandise on offer is second to none in the Disney Park.
But did you know that the statue of Captain Mickey in the centre of the Bay Boutique is a copy of a monument to fishermen in Gloucester, Massachusetts?
Other activities
If you want to see a bit of the country, don’t hesitate to visit Val d’Europe and the surrounding area. Val d’Europe, a town built and designed entirely by Disney, includes a shopping centre and the Sea Life Aquarium.
The Newport’s services
When you think of a top 4-star hotel, you think of the premium services that go with it. Like the other luxury hotels in the resort (Hotel New York & Disneyland Hotel), The Newport offers exclusive services to its residents. Services that other less expensive hotels do not offer.
Valet Parking
How would you like to arrive at your favourite hotel, get out of your car and head straight to the parks? It’s possible at Disney Newport Bay Club. The valet service will take care of your car and bring your luggage to your room. How convenient is that?
Our review
Our verdict on accommodation at The Newport
The Newport is one of the hotels with the most glowing reviews! Elegant, refined, classy: these are just some of the adjectives used to describe this huge New England mansion. Its location is one of its main assets. Overlooking Lake Disney, it offers a wide choice of dining options between the restaurants of the surrounding hotels and those of Disney Village.
Ideal for couples (especially for a wedding night), it is also suitable for families and children thanks to its beautiful indoor and outdoor pool area. It’s so big that it’s easier to find a room than at any other hotel.
You can stay in a 4-star Disney hotel for a reasonable price compared to the Disneyland Hotel and the New York. If you can, don’t hesitate to spend a little extra to take advantage of all the Compass Club benefits.
